Today's theme is WWII fighters. We've posted the Seversky 2PA/AT-12 Guardsman, Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden (Jack), Mitsubishi J8M1 Shusui, Lockheed P-38L Lightning Cockpit and Curtiss P-40N Warhawk Engine. We've also posted the photos from the SVSM's June 2010 club meeting. A varied armor update brings us the following vehicles - German medium tank PzKpfwIII Ausf F from the Patton Museum, German post WWII light reconnaissance vehicle Schützenpanzer SPz 11-2 Kurz from Military Vehicle Technology Foundation, Replica of the Russian WWI armored car Russo-Balt Armored Car Series I and Sd.Kfz.250/5 neu German half-track from Leibstandarte collection in Moscow. More aircraft from the Planes of Fame museum have been added to the gallery. They are - Grumman F7F-3P Tigercat, de Haviland Vampire.MkIV, Grumman OV-1A Mohawk and Antonov-PZL Mielec An-2 Antek. The subject of the today's update is the Japanese Navy. We've added the photos of the Japanese ships taken during their visit to the San Francisco in June. The following albums were added - training ship JDS Kashima (TV-3508), destroyer JMSDF Sawayuki (DD-125), Phalanx CIWS and RUR-5 ASROC anti-submarine missile launcher. Getting back to our regular schedule, we've added the photos of the Ryan NYP "Spirit of St. Louis", Lockheed Martin X-35B Joint Strike Fighter prototype and Viking Lander from the Smithsonian in Washinton, DC. We've also added the photos of the Wright R-1820 Cyclone 9 engine from the Tillamook Air Museum in Oregon. And we've added yet another model to the Member's Models section - Submarine D-4 Revolutsyoner in 1/700 scale, converted from Combrig's D-2 by Vladimir Yakubov. Having just come back from the IPMS USA 2010 Nationals late last night, we've posted the photos of nearly all of the models from the show to the IPMS USA 2010 Nationals album. John Heck is solely responcible for bringing you this viewing pleasure. We've also posted the awards presentation from the convention - 2010 Nationals Awards Presentation. The winners are posted in the reverse order, just as the are announced at the banquet - after the slide with the name of the category next model is the third place winner then second and then first. Thanks to the people who helped with the photography on Friday Night. Today's update brings us two softskins from Littlefield's - M35 truck and SdKfz.7 8-ton halftrack, from Moscow's Lehn Collection - Humber F.W.D. Heavy Utility Car (Tropical) and finally from Belarus' Stalin Line Museum - BAT-M Road Clearing Vehicle. We've also added another model to the Member's Models - Russian Torpedo-Boat 106 Luga scratchbuilt in 1/700 scale by Vladimir Yakubov. Continuing to post photos of the aircraft from Chino's Planes of Fame museum, we've added the - Boeing P-12E, Grumman F3F-2, Heinkel He-162-1a Volksjager and it's engine BMW.003E1. Four vehicles from Latrun armor museum make up our update for today. We've added the Renault R-35, Magach 7C, Archer 17pdr Self-Propelled Gun and Sherman Medical Evacuation Tank. |
