SVSM is a club dedicated to the promotion of the hobby of scale modeling. Our meetings feature modeling subjects and programs covering all areas and genres of the hobby. Our meetings are open to visitors (see the meetings page for directions and maps) and frequently feature a monthly contest.

The last three albums from the Pacific Coast Dream and one from Castle Air museum machines comprise our Softskins update.  We've added the albums containing Dodge M37 Cargo 4x4, Dodge WC57 Command Car, International Harvester M-3L-4 Tow Truck and M43 3/4 ton 4x4 Dodge Ambulance Truck.

02-04-2010 The aircraft in today's update come from Pacific Coast Dream Machines Air Show 2009.  We've added Mitsubishi A6M3 Type 22 Zero and it's opponent - Grumman F6F-5K Hellcat to the Fighters 1919-1945 section, while the Civilian section was updated with Yakovlev Yak-55M and Piper Super Cub.

02-01-2010 This Monday we have the artillery related update for you.  The Soviet 122mm A-19 Field Gun was added from Fort Sill Artillery Museum in Oklahoma, the US 10" Rodman Cannon and Model 1861 Barbette Mount came from Fort Point in San Francisco, while US M1 57mm Anti-Tank Gun and Browning M2 0.50 caliber Water Cooled Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun both come from Virginia War Museum.

01-28-2010 The photos from from last year's Castle Air Museum open cockpit day give us the following albums - Convair F-102A-70-CO Delta Dagger, McDonell-Douglas A-4L Skyhawk, Fairchild C-123K Provider and new photos of the rear gunner cockpit for the Boeing B-52D-80-BO Stratofortress.

01-25-2010 A day dedicated to the armored vehicles brings us four different albums from four different places.  Worthington Tank Park gives us a Italian Fiat M13/40 light tank, Patton Museum delivers an XM551 Sheridan - prototype of the air droppable tank,  Aberdeen Proving Grounds shows off it's SdKfz 186 Jagdtiger heavy tank destroyer and finally Littlefield Collection closes off the selection with a Dragoon ASV 150 armored car.

01-21-2010 Today's aircraft come from last year's Pacific Coast Dream Machines 2009 air show.  We've added the photos of North American P-51A-1NA Mustang, North American T-6G Texan and Waco YMF-5.

01-18-2010 The softskin photos in the update for Monday all come from former Soviet Union.  We've added the photos of the Laffly S20TL and Dodge WC63 from Lehn Collection in Moscow while BKT-RK2 Wheeled Bulldozer and P-37 Radar Rangefinder come from the Stalin Line Museum in Belarus.

01-14-2010 Even more clean up brings us the last four albums from the Beale AFB 2009 Air Show.  We've added the photos of latest version of the venerable Huey - Bell UH-1Y Venom, rare training version of the U-2 spy plane - Lockheed TU-2S, Northrop T-38C Talon trainer and one of the last US Air Force Cessna T-37B Tweety Birds which was flying straight from the Air Show to its retirement home in Pima Arizona.

01-11-2010 The theme for today's update is British tanks from WWI to WWII and to that extent we've posted the photos of the Medium Mark A Whippet, MkII Medium, Matilda Mk.II and Infantry Tank III Valentine Mk. VI.  The Mk II Medium is from the Aberdeen Proving Grounds and the rest of the tanks are from Worthington Tank Park in Ontario, Canada.

We've also added two new models to the Members' Models gallery - 1/48 F2G Number 84 and 1/48 F-18 Hornet (Blue Angels) both built by Rodney Williams.

01-07-2010 Posted the last four albums from Hiller museum.  We've added the photos of the Boeing 747-100 Cockpit, Fairchild 24 C8C, Hiller XROE-1 Rotorcycle and Pratt-Whitney JT9D.

01-04-2010 Continuing the clean up theme we've added last three walkarounds from the The Air Force Museum of the German Federal Armed Forces in Gatow - S-125 Neva (NATO - SA-3 Goa), S-200 Angara (NATO - SA-5 Gammon) and UB-32 Rocket Launcher.  We've also added the photos of the SdKfz 184 Elephant (Ferdinand) from Aberdeen Proving Ground.

12-28-2009 Posted last two walkarounds from the USS Hornet - McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II and United Tractor GC-340-4 A9 Tow Tractor. Also added two albums from 2009 Beale Air Show - Nanchang CJ-6A and Bell AH-1Z Viper.

We've also posted photos from December 2009 meeting and gift exchange of the SVSM.

Today's artillery update brings us four new guns - US M1A1 Howitzer on the M6A2 Mount and French 25mm SA Mle.37 Anti-Tank Gun from Motts Military Museum in Ohio, 100+ new photos of the Soviet ZPU-4 14.5mm AA Gun from Jacques Littlefield's and US 155mm GPF Model 1918 Coast Defense Gun from Park Presidio in San Francisco, CA.

We've also added a new model to the Members' Models gallery - USS Annapolis SSN-760 scratchbuilt by Vladimir Yakubov in 1/700 scale.

Hiller museum provides more unusual stuff for an aviation update today.  We've added a Hiller OH-23A Raven, Brown B-2 Racer "Miss Los Angeles", Bell Jet Pack and 1914 Ford Model T Station Wagon.

12-17-2009 Haven't had any dedicated armor updates in a while, so here is one.  We've added to US and two Russian subjects.  The US armor is LVT(A)1 amphibious tank from Patton Museum and T29 experimental heavy tank from Fort Knox, while the Russian subjects are Ba-64B armored car from Lehn Collection and IRM Engineering Reconnaissance Vehicle from Stalin Line Museum.  All have been added to the Armor album.

12-14-2009 Today's aviation update brings us Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet and Northrop RQ-4 Global Hawk both from Beale AFB Air Show 2009, Grumman F11F Tiger Nose from USS Hornet and finally Wright J65 Jet Engine from Wings over the Rockies Museum.

12-10-2009 Two museums, a gun and a jeep make up today's update.  We've added the photos of California Military Museum and California State Railroad Museum both located in Sacramento, CA, French 24pdr Cannon from Presidio, San Francisco and Willys MB photographed at the Oldtimer Gallery, in Moscow, Russia.

12-07-2009 Couple of cockpits and couple of unusual flying objects were posted as a part of today's air update.  We've added a Douglas A-4M Skyhawk Cockpit and Boeing 737-200 Cockpit, as well as Buhl Autogyro and Solotech XFV (Exoskeleton Flying Vehicle) to the Aircraft album.

We've also posted the photos from the last two local contests of the year - Antelope Valley Classic 2009 and SilverCon 2009 - to the Model Shows category.

12-03-2009 This update contains a little bit of everything taken at former NAS Alameda.  The album with the photos of the Alameda Naval Air Museum was added to the Museums, Airshows & Military Bases album, International Harvester M-1-4 1/2 Ton Weapons Carrier Truck with a trailer was added to the Softskins album, Browning .303 Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun was added to the Infantry Weapons album and finally Golden Gate Classic Thunderbird Club Display was added to the Automotive album.

11-30-2009 After missing a Thursday update for the Thanksgiving break we've added four aircraft related walkarounds.  From USS Hornet - North American FJ-2 Fury and Lockheed S-3B Viking, from McMinnville Air Museum - North American T-2C Buckeye and finally from Tillamo0k Air Museum - Continental O-470-11 Engine.

11-23-2009 The armor in today's update comes from Littlefield's collection.  We've added the photos of M4A2E8 76(W), M551 Sheridan, Alvis FV 610 Saracen Armored Command Post and Ford GAA V-8 engine to the Armor album.

11-19-2009 Thursday aircraft update has four albums from the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, CA.  The albums are - 1911 Black Diamond aircraft, the Wright 4 Cylinder engine that powered the first aircraft to fly across US, Hiller YH-32A an experimental ram-jet powered attack helicopter from the 40s and a civilian acrobatic biplane Travel Air D-4-D.

11-16-2009 The Motts Military Museum from Columbus Ohio brings us the new military  walkarounds.  We've added the photos of the M42A1 Duster, Soviet 122mm D-74 Field Gun and 4.7" Gun Caisson Model 1916.

11-12-2009 Beale AFB air show is the source of the photographs in the today's update.  We've added the albums containing a Republic A-10A Thunderbolt II, Canadair T-33A-N Silver Star, Lockheed U-2S Dragon Lady and Grove Model MB-2 Tow Tractor.

11-08-2009 The missiles in the today's update come from the The Air Force Museum of the German Federal Armed Forces in Gatow, Germany.  We've added the photos of the Raytheon MIM-23 Hawk, Western Electric MIM-14 Nike Hercules and S-75 Dvina (NATO - SA-2 Guideline) to the Missiles album.

11-05-2009 During another trip to the Hiller Air Museum, we shot another series of walkarounds from there.  To being with we've added the photos of the United Helicopters UH-12C, Christen Eagle II and updated the Boeing Condor High Altitude Drone album with 40 more photos.

We've also added a new model to the Members' Models gallery - Soviet Attack Submarine K-461 (Akula class) from Takara built by Vladimir Yakubov in 1/700 scale.

11-02-2009 Today's armor and softskin update comes from Fort Knox and Patton Museum.  We've added the photos of the M60A1 MBT, Type 97 Te-Ke tankette, General Patton's Limousine - 1938 Cadillac Limousine Series 75 and his Headquarters Truck.

We've also added a new model to the Members' Models gallery - Revell 1/72 Boeing P-26A Peashooter built by Vladimir Yakubov.
